First-Ever Graduation at Fishkill Correctional Facility

In partnership with Nyack College, Hudson Link hosted its first-ever graduation at Fishkill Correctional Facility on August 10th.   To the traditional pomp and circumstance, thirteen men marched proudly through a room of family, friends, and supporters to receive their Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Nyack College.

Three of our graduates had already been released from the Fishkill Correctional Facility and are back home with their families.  But the Department of Corrections understood how important it was that they participate in the ceremony alongside their fellow graduates, so they granted these men permission to enter the prison and be a part of graduation.  We are extremely grateful to the Department of Corrections for arranging this.

Glenn Martin, VP of Development at the Fortune Society, was the keynote speaker.  Glenn spoke about the choices we all make in life and how our graduates decision to attend college has transformed their lives.  And DOCCS Commissioner Brian Fischer spoke about responsibility, the responsibility our graduates now have to make the right choices going forward and to help those behind them succeed — they have a responsibility to pay-it-forward!

We are so proud of our graduates and all that they have accomplished, and are honored to call them Hudson Link Alumni !
